Good Shepherd Baptist Church is
excited that Christopher Boyer answered our call to be pastor.
M. Christopher Boyer has been interim pastor of American Baptist churches in Indiana and Massachusetts and has preached, taught, and performed in churches across the country. A graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and of Rice University, he has also served as executive director of Interfaith Community Council, a social service provider in southern Indiana, and as director for communication for Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children. The majority of his ministry work has been based in theatre arts, both in ministry-based theatres such as Taproot Theatre Company of Seattle and A.D. Players of Houston, and as “salt” in secular theatres such as Actors Theatre of Louisville, Summer Theatre at Mount Holyoke, Stage One: The Louisville Children’s Theatre, and Southern Indiana Theatres.
Christopher has become very involved in our local community, he has been Chair of the Lynnwood Arts Commission for almost two years; has appeared before the Lynnwood City Council on behalf of the Church's project to build affordable senior housing; and has been involved in the organization and management of the Edmonds Center for the Arts.
Christopher and his wife, Constance, are both natives of St. Louis, Missouri, and have three children: Kit, Colleen, and Sean—all of whom, through quirks of timing, are natives of Houston, Texas.
