Good Shepherd Baptist Church annual Auction and Dinner is tonight at the Lynnwood Elks Club (6620 196th St SW, Lynnwood, WA 98036-5924)

This event is the church’s one major fundraiser for the year, the proceeds of which will be used to help keep open our campus to community groups for their use at low cost, continue the 30-year-old community gardens, and help maintain the open space on our campus as a community resource.

You are invited to the Good Shepherd Baptist Church annual Auction and Dinner on Saturday, September 26, 2009, at 5:00 pm at the Lynnwood Elks Club (6620 196th St SW, Lynnwood, WA 98036)!!

This event is the church’s one major fundraiser for the year, the proceeds of which will be used to help keep open our campus to community groups for their use at low cost, continue the 30-year-old community gardens, and help maintain the open space on our campus as a community resource.

This year our goal is to raise at least $2,200 for the church.

Our annual Auction and Dinner is a FAMILY-FRIENDLY event–bring the kids! Invite your friends!

Call to Artists! Mural Needed for Shepherd’s Garden

Good Shepherd Baptist Church is seeking an artist to create a mural for Shepherd’s Garden.

Shepherd’s Garden is a 40-unit apartment building for senior citizens on very-low incomes. Sponsored by Good Shepherd Baptist Church and American Baptist Homes of the West (ABHOW), construction is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the State of Washington Housing Trust Fund and Snohomish County Affordable Housing Trust Fund. Rent subsidies will be funded by HUD. The building is expected to open in April of 2010 and will be managed by ABHOW on behalf of Good Shepherd Senior Housing, Inc., an independent 501(c)3 organization.

Artists residing in Washington are eligible to apply. The art budget is $4,000. The deadline for application is Tuesday, October 6, 2009.

Join us for our annual back-to-school kickoff this Sunday!!

  • 10:30 a.m. Worship Service
    • Pastor Chris will preach from John 3:13-17 & I Corinthians 1:18-24, “Love and the Cross.”
  • Noon  Rally Day Luncheon
    • Featuring World-class Texas Brisket from Pastor Chris and Lynn Melby’s Famous Pork Ribs, plus side dishes provided by members. We’ll take “Pay What You Can” donations for lunch to benefit Good Shepherd’s general fund.
